Había nacido en Buenos Aires en mayo de 1897.

Fresedo was known as 'El pibe de La Paternal' (The Boy from the Paternal) - he grew up in the La Paternal neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He had a brilliant career as a bandoneonist, composer and conductor.

Born into a middleclass family, he was a good friend of Ricardo Güiraldes and he and his band were familiar figures at the elegant parties given by porteña high society.

Known as 'the aesthete of tango music', Fresedo was a bridge between Argentina and Europe, between the tango of the barrio and the tango of the upper classes.
