Except for Vayamos al diablo, Milonga en re, and Milonga sin palabras, all other selections are 'early' works, composed between 1943 and 1953 by Piazzolla, before his time in Paris studying with Nadia Boulanger.
The listing gives "Tanguango" as title of the second track while in reality it is "Tanguano" (composed in 1949 , while Tanguango is a different piece from 1951) - thanks to Ramiro Carambula for pointing this out.

A multiple Grammy Nominee, pianist Allison Brewster Franzetti has received international acclaim from critics and audiences alike for her stunning virtuosity and musicality, both as a soloist and chamber musician. Versatile in virtually every musical genre, her performances range from early music to world premieres of contemporary music by composers worldwide.
She has played the world premiere of Carlos Franzetti’s “Piano Concerto No. 2” at the Teatro Colon with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Buenos Aires, Javier Logioia conducting, and the European premiere with the Janacek Philharmonic, Dennis Burkh conducting.
The Buenos Aires Philharmonic commissioned this concerto as part of their 50th anniversary season for Ms. Brewster Franzetti. She has also been a guest artist with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Carlos Franzetti conducting (broadcast on NBC-TV News); the Long Island Philharmonic, David Lockington conducting; the English Sinfonia, Sir Charles Grove conducting; and the Denver Symphony, amongst others.
Solo performances include her critically acclaimed concert at the renowned Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and her equally acclaimed New York debut at Merkin Hall; her recital debut at the prestigious Wigmore Hall in London; and tours throughout the US, Europe, Argentina and Japan. Allison Brewster Franzetti’s new solo CD of ballet works by Stravinsky and Ravel will be released early next year.
She is also embarking on an exploration of rarely heard music by Felix Mendelssohn, with several CDs planned.
She is the 2003 Grammy Award Nominee for “Poeta de Arrabal,” on Amapola Records for Best Classical Crossover Album.
She is the 2002 Latin Grammy Nominee for “Tango Bar” on Chesky Records for Best Tango Album. Premier Recordings released her first solo CD, “South American Landscapes.” Other solo CDs include “Scriabin/Ravel/deFalla” on Amapola Records and “The Unknown Piazzolla” on Chesky Records.
Also available on Amapola Records is her world-premiere recording of Carlos Franzetti’s “Piano Concerto No. 2” with the Janacek Philharmonic.
She is a featured soloist on the 2001 Latin Grammy Award Winner, “Tango Fatal” on Amapola Records, “Images Before Dawn – Symphonic Music of Carlos Franzetti” on Premier Recordings, and the 1997 Grammy Award Winner, “Portraits of Cuba” on Chesky Records.
