-----------------------
A one of a kind artist, Miguel De Caro is one of the leading names in Argentine 90’s Tango music.
He brings a unique contribution to this art form, a perfect equilibrium between tradition and innovation.
His two major influences were, Julio De Caro- Miguel’s granduncle- and Astor Piazzolla, two well known names in the genre.
Miguel continues their groundbreaking tradition incorporating a non-conventional instrument for tango music: THE SAXOPHONE.Here lies for, the most part, the originality of Miguel De Caro’s artistic approach. His music comes from the fascinating mix of traditional tango and the “dirty-lowdown ‘hood” (arrabalero) spirit of the Buenos Aires’music, and the sonorities, openess and freedom qualities of Jazz and World Music.
Miguel currently leads a quartet (piano, bass, bandoneon and sax) that plays his original compositions as well as tangos and milongas from such classic writers as Mariano Mores, Aníbal Troilo, Julian Plaza and Juan Carlos Cobián, among others.
